Who is responsible?

WingRally is operated in the Netherlands by Henk Salomons and is the controller for the personal data described on this page. Questions, access requests or deletion requests can be sent to [email protected].

Browser storage we use

These items make the requested service work or remember choices on the current device. They are not used to follow you across other websites.

Information WingRally stores

Account and communication

Email address, password digest, verification and reset state, account preferences, feedback and replies.

Flights and preferences

Generated and accepted missions, favourite aircraft and airports, SimBrief Pilot ID, completion state and optional ratings.

Product measurement

Functional events such as generation, acceptance, downloads, failures and recovery choices, linked to an account or random session ID.

Operational security

Hosting, proxy and application logs may temporarily contain request metadata needed to operate and secure the service.

Product-event records deliberately exclude IP addresses and complete browser user-agent strings. Before a mission is generated, journey measurement records only the planner step reached, a random planning-run ID and sign-in state—not the choices entered on that step. WingRally does not combine these events with advertising data or sell personal data.

Why and how long?

  • Account and mission data is processed to provide the service requested by the pilot.
  • Security and low-impact product measurements support the legitimate interests of operating and improving WingRally.
  • Product events without a user account are pseudonymous and are automatically deleted once they are more than 13 months old.
  • Account-linked data is kept while the account remains active or until a valid deletion request is completed, unless a legal obligation requires longer retention.
  • Feedback is retained while it is useful for the conversation, support and product improvement.

External services

WingRally uses a limited number of providers to deliver the service:

  • Cloudflare provides network delivery and security and receives normal connection information such as IP address and requested URL.
  • OpenFreeMap, unpkg and jsDelivr provide map tiles or fixed MapLibre assets only when a route or administrator map is opened. The browser connects directly to these services.
  • SimBrief / Navigraph is contacted when the pilot explicitly starts or imports a SimBrief dispatch. SimBrief has its own account and privacy terms.
  • Email infrastructure delivers verification, password-reset and feedback-reply messages.
  • AviationWeather.gov supplies weather observations through WingRally's server; the pilot's browser does not contact it directly.

Following an external link, including Buildory, leaves WingRally and is governed by that service's own privacy information.

Your choices and rights

You can ask for access, correction, export, restriction or deletion of personal data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact [email protected]. You may also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority.

WingRally currently has no non-essential tracker that requires consent, so it does not show an accept/reject banner. If advertising, marketing pixels or privacy-sensitive analytics are introduced later, they will remain disabled until a visitor has made a clear choice.
